21.06.2017 – New Client versions of Fox-Talk

One more update of the Fox-Talk Clients before the summer break! There was one thing I wanted to add before my little summer break. You now have in both versions a Call-Sound when you try to call someone else. A little request that come up by some users, who didn’t have any sound-effect when they waited for the other user to pick up the call. That’s all for now! If there is something urgent, I will fix it in time, but until then, see you all in September!

15.06.2017 - First fully functional Android-Client

I managed to build the first fully functional Android Client today, finally with Voice and Sound management. It was a bit of work, because some devices didn’t want me to access the Voice-record or even play out audio when it is not file based. Well anyway managed to make it work! You can now do everything on your Android like you do on your Windows Desktop. I won’t call it the first stable beta (0.845) because I need to see how it works on devices I don’t have here for some tests. So feel free to try out the newest version of the Android Client give me feedback ;-).

13.06.2017 - New Server Version 0.890

New Server version everyone! Throw the development of the Android-Client of Fox-Talk I got some feedback from you for the server and some wishes. So I took a little break from working on the Android Client and worked a little at the Server. I included some Bug-Fixes that I had on the list but also added some new features! Well here you go: Fox-Talk Server 0.890

- expanded Database Structure (File)
- expanded Database Structure (MYSQL)
- Server collects now Version of the Client
- Server shows now version of the Client
- Added new Database-SQL-Code
- Added optional Clean User-Data Command

- fixed that Clients are not informed when the Connection-Partner goes offline in the middle of a call without disconnect
- fixed that the Server overview does not always refresh when new data come in
- fixed User check at login
- fixed channel control
- Removed Server from Taskbar and added it to Icon-Bar

Like you can see I did change a lot. Here we have a big change! You need to update your Database structure! MYSQL User need to expand their tables like in the new script, and you can keep all your old data. File-Database User will need to create a new Database or contact me and I will redesign them by hand. Most of all this Update will make the server more clean in his tasks and shouldn’t create so many “dead connection” like the old one did with Android.

06.06.2017 - Windows Client Update 0.870

Client-Software Update time! Thanks to you guys and all your awesome response we found some little issues and bugs in the client who are now fixed to what we have now reached version 0.870 of the Windows Client.

- removed Client from taskbar
- added Client to icon-taskbar

05.06.2017 - Need your help!

Like you all know I am currently working on the Android-Client of Fox-Talk and the newest Builds are always online at the Fox-Talk Website. Well I reached a point where I need your help! Like you can see I am currently working at the design of the Fox-Talk App and need different devices for testing different resolutions and Android-versions.
I have currently 3 different Android devices where I can test the APP:

These have the Android versions 4.3, 4.1 and 4.1.2. The App is configured to be executable from 4.1 to 7.1. The problem is that I can only test the compatible with different Android versions with the emulator but not the resolution. Currently it looks like this on the devices:

I don’t think that there will be issues with resolutions of 720p and more, but the smaller one could be a problem. Can’t really test it, because of the missing devices that I don’t have.
One new feature that is implemented is the Event-Information System. Whenever you get a SMS or Call via Fox-Talk you get information and calls will also open the APP, when the App is in minimized.

How you can help me:
Please download the current Build of Fox-Talk and test it on your device and send me a Screenshot or Photo of the APP, so I can see what devices are troublesome and which are perfect.

!!!If you use Android 6.0 or 4.4 you have to give the APP permissions to write the storage in your settings! Or else it will not work. That is a common known issue with these 2 Android versions!!!

24.05.2017 - Fox-Talk Android

How are you? Hope you all are fine! I made good progress on the Android Client of Fox-Talk. You could say that 70% of the development is finished. What is still to do is:

- Voice-Device handling
- GUI synchronization and resolution management
- Activity cache management
- Standby functionality

Except that, the most work is done!
Well why the news? I wanted to show you guys some of the progress I made and that not only in pictures. So I decided that I offer you the current development build for download.
Please keep in mind that it is still a development preview without full functionality and with some bugs, so only use it at own risk. But what it shows is, if the app can run on your Smartphone. So feel free to try it if you want.
If you have some feedback, feel free to contact me via mail like usual.
